Vitamin C Lipo-Sachets

Why is vitamin C important?

The human body can’t produce its own vitamin C3 and must get it from food and/or supplements. Not only that, the human body eliminates unused vitamin C, making it difficult to maintain normal concentrations for long periods of time4. To maintain adequate levels, it’s essential to take vitamin C regularly, and in a highly absorbable form.

Oxidative Stress

Vitamin C protects cells against oxidative stress.

One of the factors damaging both the dermis and epidermis cells, as well as contributing to their degeneration, is oxidative stress. Oxidation stress is the imbalance between oxidants and antioxidants in favour of the oxidants, potentially leading to damage. The action of free radicals may interfere with the growth of tissues, change the metabolism and functioning of cells, destroy lipid and protein structures. The effect of their action on the skin is reducing its elasticity and weakening its defence mechanisms, which accelerates the aging process.

The causes of oxidative stress for the skin may include: excessive exposure to UV rays, stimulants (e.g. cigarettes, alcohol), chronic medicines used, or psychological stress.

Young Skin
  • Vitamin C has anti-oxidant properties.
  • Vitamin C supports collagen formation.
  • Vitamin C is essential for the synthesis of collagen.
  • Vitamin C is essential to the proper function of the skin by supporting the production of collagen.
Aging Skin

Healthy physiological skin:

  • Helps manages sebum production, sebum oxidation, skin pH, which may limit the appearance of spots or discolorations.
  • Is responsible for supporting the synthesis of the right amount of ceramides, lipid compounds present in the stratum corneum, which support the proper. moisturizing of the skin.
  • Supports normal production of melanin, the excess of which can lead to discolouration.

When to use:

  • In people over 26, when there is a physiological decline in the production of collagen, which is manifested by the loss of skin density and elasticity, intensifying over the years.
  • During menopause, when the decrease in oestrogen levels impacts collagen synthesis and undesirable changes in its properties. Menopause can also increase the activity of collagen-degrading enzymes.
  • After anti-aging treatments (e.g. mesotherapy, RF, laser therapy) – as a supporter of collagen production, and the health of the epidermis
  • As an aid in protecting the skin against oxidative stress, e.g. in the period of excessive exposure to the sun rays, which can lead, among others to skin discolouration.
